Missions News and Updates

A very important le
tter was received from Jim and Denise Hayes concerning All God's Children, Inc. It was stated: "Due to circumstances of a personal nature, and also financial constraints, we are stepping down from All God's Children, and will be taking steps in the near future to dissolve the mission. We understand that this is startling news, but we ask for your understanding and prayers for our family and for our future." In closing Jim and Denise state that it has been an honor to serve God and to represent the Christian Church in Zimbabwe, Africa over the past 20 years. May we be in prayer for them as they endeavor to do His will. Please see letter on the mission board…….

Koinonia has just finished an exciting year with numerous decisions, the revival of small groups, and an increased spiritual depth. They are getting ready for the new school year. David Weaver states: "I want to thank you again for your financial support and prayers. You are a vital part of our ministry to MSSU students and without you, we wouldn't exist." Koinonia is still one of the largest and most active student organizations at MSSU out of the 9 ministries on campus and 90 various campus groups. The first Koinonia meeting is Tuesday, August 24th. Pray for a campus house; their student leadership; and this year's graduates that they will find a church home and be active……..

Pat Fancher reported this true story: Last year Christ in Youth(CIY) went to Cambodia to assist in the ministry of Rapha House. Along with sharing the love of Christ to them, they launched a medical relief trip in the community and surrounding villages. Patients were given a Bible after their care. At the end of their clinic travels, they returned to the Rapha House area and learned that 17 patients had come back to the small village church and asked to be baptized. Upon returning this year CIY/Engage went back to the same village of 500 and more than 250 of them were waiting for their arrival and there was a church building with 150 members. Praise the Lord! …………….....................

November 19 - 22 is the dates of the 2010 National Missionary Convention which will be held in Lexington, KY. The theme is Harvest of Hope which is a very fitting theme for a world that is in need of Jesus Christ when many things we count on for security seem to be uncertain. David Empson is the president. (david@nmc-windows.org). Think about attending! Pray for a great convention ………….

Joe Welch from ARM states: "Since computer records were kept, ARM has sent 450,000 courses to inmates who requested to study God's Word through the American Bible Academy! Just imagine the impact of 450,000 courses have made upon the lives of inmates over the years. Try to imagine how many inmates came to understand the eternal importance of faith, repentance, and baptism, and just imagine how many believers confessed Jesus as Lord before stepping into an ARM baptistery. Now try to comprehend this significant point-you and your church made this all possible!" ................................

Read the report from Lydia Abbott in the August White Fields publication concerning her delay in Cuban customs. She was a great witness for the Lord. To God be the glory is the theme of her life.
