Dear Parent,
Welcome to Villa Heights Christian Church and the Children’s Ministry. We consider it a privilege to be able to help lead young children in their walk with Christ. We look forward to serving you and your children through the ministry God allows us to do.
Sunday School
Sunday School is very important here at Villa Heights. It is a great opportunity for our children to be introduced to God’s word and for them to start learning stories of the faith. There are Sunday school classes for every age group and they are divided by the child’s age (2-5 years old) and school grade (kindergarten and up). Sunday School starts at 9:30 and ends around 10:15.
Wee Worship
Wee Worship is designed for children ages two years old through kindergarten. Your children will be taught a Bible lesson and have a craft and a snack. Our workers do an excellent job at providing the children a variety of activities that introduce them to God’s Word and Worship.
Children’s Worship
Children’s Worship (“Jr. Church”) is also an important part of VHCC. It is a great time for children to learn about different aspects of worship and begin to experience structured worship time.
Our children’s worship time is at 10:30 and it is for 1st – 6th Graders. We use age-appropriate teaching styles to help communicate the word of God to children, using object lessons, videos, skits, stories, and crafts to help the children grasp at an early age that God loves them not because of what they do, but because of who they are.
Just 4 Kidz
On Sunday evenings, we have activities for Preschool - 6th grade age children. These activities include a Bible lesson or video, singing, snacks, games and/or a craft. The group meets at the church fellowship hall from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. This gives the parents an opportunity to join a small group which meets from 6 to 7 pm. Drop off and pick up point is the door under the awning.
Children’s Choir
On Wednesday nights during the school year, the Children’s choir uses this time to rehearse and learn a musical. They usually perform two musicals a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The musicals include drama, singing, and devotions. The children’s Choir meets at 7:00 and is done around 8:00 pm. Currently we are not working on a Spring musical.

Vacation Bible School
From June 6 - 10, VHCC hosted our 2010 Vacation Bible School. We had over 75 different young people attend and averaged over 50 workers each night. The young people were challenged to raise money for Brice and Amanda Wurdeman, serving with Sonlight Ministries in Haiti. The young people met all three of the orginal goals: 1) raise $400. and get ice cream at the closing program/cookout 2) raise $500. and youth minister Justin Hartpence gets his beard shaved 3) raise $600. and children's minister Bob Heath gets his head shaved. During the excitement of the week, the youth minister and one of the group leaders (Randy Baldwin) challenged the young people that if they raised $1000., then they would both let their heads be shaved. The young people ended up raising $1135.38. They received ice cream, Justins beard was shaved and three heads became bald. PTL
We would love to join you in the task of raising your child to love and serve Jesus.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to give the office a call at 417.624.6771.
