Who's Telling the Truth?

In our world today, everyone seems to have a different version of the truth.  

Many times, these versions are exactly the opposite of each other!  How is that possible? Who do you believe? One version must be a lie and the other must be the truth.

Bo Giertz was a famous Christian writer and theologian from Sweden.  He was an atheist until his college years.  Giertz once declared there are “3 Great Lies.”  Here they are:

• There is no God
• There is no devil.
• Everyone can be saved in their own way.

Giertz declared that the author of each of these lies is Satan himself.  He is very happy when people believe he does not exist.

So, if these are the 3 Great Lies, then what are the 3 Great Truths?  

Scripture gives us a great truth to counter each of the great lies:

• God exists. He created us. He loves us. Psalm 46:10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

• Satan also exists. Jesus described him in John 8:44, “He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

• How are we saved? John 14:6 – Jesus answered, ‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

So, here you can compare the 3 Great Lies with the 3 Great Truths.    As a human being created with free will, you have a choice when seeking the truth.  

Does it make more sense to believe Satan, the father of lies, or Jesus, who is the Truth?
